BETA CLUB MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA
As a district, we have guidelines to make Beta Club the best it can be and uniform throughout the three high schools. One such guideline is that each eligible student will be invited to participate in Beta Club ONE time. This letter is your only invitation while at Camden High School. If you choose not to participate, you will not be allowed to join the following year or years.
According to the National Beta Club’s Constitution and Bylaws, membership in the Beta Club is a privilege and not a right. The qualifications for membership on the part of the student will be:
- Worthy, moral, and ethical character
- Good mentality
- Creditable achievement
- Commendable attitude (for example, cheating, disciplinary problems, disrespect, and unwillingness to cooperate or obey faculty and administration will disqualify you from membership, regardless of academic standing or grade level).
- Minimum 3.5 grade point average
- Required to attend the induction ceremony. This is only required for new members. Parents of new members are encouraged to attend.
- Required to participate in all service projects. (The motto of the Beta Club is “Let us lead by serving others”).
- Required to attend Beta Club meetings . Each member is allowed to miss only two meetings, excused or unexcused. Meetings are held in the Lecture Hall.
- Members are required to complete 15 service hours per semester. 30 Hours total are due by the Spring. 30 Hours due to Mrs. Lopez by April 24, 2026
Dues: Please pay the following dues and return your paperwork to Mrs. Lopez (Room 602). Payment can also be made via: MySchoolBucks:
- New Member Dues: $32.00 Due by Sept 12
- Junior Dues: $15.00 Due by Sept 19
- Senior Dues: $30.00 Due by Sept 19
A student will be put on probation if his/her GPA drops below the requirement.(You have one semester to pull this up.) A student will also be placed on probation for not meeting the hours requirement or participating in the service projects each semester.
A student may automatically be expelled from the Beta Club if: he/she is suspended or expelled for any reason, he/she misses more than two meetings during a school year, or he/she violates any of the above criteria. Once a student is removed from the Beta Club, he/she cannot be reinstated.
